About the Charity

The Abbey Community Association Ltd (ACAL) is a registered charity with a subsidiary Abbey Community Services Limited (ACS).

The charity is governed by a Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees delegates day-to-day management to the Chief Executive, paid staff and volunteers. The Board is involved in strategic planning for the organisation and oversees the financial welfare of the organisation.

To promote the well-being of those living and working in South Westminster by providing health, life-long learning, and capacity building/enterprise services from a community hub

• To deliver sustainable and imaginative programmes that meet the needs of the community.
• Actively listening to service users, ensuring that services are tailored to their stated needs.
• Making the Abbey Centre the core for service delivery.
• Building capacity for service delivery through use of other community space.
• Building and retaining pride in the Abbey Centre as a hub for the community in South Westminster - professionally run, welcoming and attractive to users of the building.
• Developing partnerships with community, statutory and commercial partners to deliver our promises.
• Providing cost effective, efficient and financially sustainable services for community groups.
