A Moveable Feast is an in-house community enterprise with a range of health and wellbeing services.
The Abbey Centre is the lead partner in A Moveable Feast, a community enterprise which offers a range of health and wellbeing services and products available to everyone. AMF also delivers a community programme in SW1 for Arabic and Bangladeshi families.
Health and Wellbeing
A Moveable Feast encourages healthy eating and physical activity. Services and products include healthy cooking classes for adults and children, nutrition advice, weight management, cover-up sportswear and a pocketsize cookbook with healthy yet tasty ethnic recipes.
Its Weightloss@Work Programme is an in-house, 11-week course (1 hour per week) for up to 20 participants, delivered by a registered dietitian with a focus on behaviour change for long-term success. It's a key product for employers wanting to improve the health of their employees.
As part of its community programme, AMF offers women-only swimming and aerobics, a men's gym subscription project and dance and football for children.
Creche and childcare training
AMF helps local women gain their accredited childcare qualifications. Its mobile crèche business is run by the successful students who become self-employed AMF childcare workers, and offers professional and affordable childcare services for those organising meetings, conferences, training sessions, play schemes, weddings and other events.
Business and employment support
The Community Venture Fund (CVF) offers support to all SW1 residents who want to set up their own business. A Moveable Feast runs training sessions and gives individual advice to help people access this fund and build their business.
