A spacious cafe near Westminster Abbey
Our spacious and comfortable cafe sits in the heart of London, in the beautiful former Victorian swimming baths building on Great Smith Street near Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and St James’s Park. Whether you are in town for work or on holiday, the Wash House Cafe is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch or a coffee break in Westminster.
Chef Gena and her team cook up hearty breakfasts to start the day and tasty lunch specials, homemade soups, generous jacket potatoes and scrumptious sandwiches to bring a smile to lunchtime. We also make delicious coffee and have a selection of tasty cakes.
Get here early in the summer for a spot on the balcony, overlooking our beautiful Lemon Pip Garden.
With daily lunch specials from under £5, the Wash House Cafe is one of the best value cafe and coffee shops in Westminster and central London.
Opening hours
We are open Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 15:00.
Breakfast is served until 11:00 and hot meals served between 12:00 and 14:15. All food available as takeaway.

Join the Abbey Centre for member discounts and enjoy filter coffee or tea for just £1 per cup, or a latte for £1.25. Members aged 60+ also get a £1.25 discount on main courses over £4 upon presentation of a valid membership card.
