We are a small folk dance group performing dances from Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Poland.
Over the years we have assembled folk costumes from these countries and perform a few times a year in London and the South East. Although we train to perform dances, the repertoire is more accessible compared to some of the other performance groups in London. Hence, in the past, we have often been joined by people with some dance experience, but not necessarily a folk dance background. Some joined as complete beginners to dance.
The repertoire does change over time as we learn new material, but we try to keep roughly the same number of items, including both relatively easier and more challenging dances.
Participants usually bring a change of clothes and shoes for dancing.
Time: Tuesdays 7pm – 9pm
Venue: The Abbey Centre
Class fees: £4 a session or £40 a term (roughly 13 weeks)
