Home Office staff are challenging themselves to raise money for the Abbey Centre
A team in the Home Office has decided to set themselves a challenge and raise some money for charity during lockdown.
One of the team told us, “After numerous charities being put forward, we chose the Abbey Centre. A number of Home Office staff volunteer at the Abbey Centre and have first-hand experience of the incredible work they do in the local community.”
“Having set ourselves a target of walking, running or cycling the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats, we very quickly passed that milestone so extended the challenge to cover the distance from London to New York. Who knew we were such an active team?! We reached our New York target after 4 weeks and have now extended it to cover the distance between London and Tokyo! We are almost 5,000 miles into our 6,739 mile target.”
So far they have raised £325 of their £1,000 target.
We are impressed by their efforts and hugely grateful for their support at a time when we are missing much of our regular income from our café and room hire.
